I grew up in a family of artists and musicians, and while my interests have ranged far and wide, textiles, fibres, and colour have always had a special place for me.
I love the way a ball of yarn can take on such different forms when left to different hands and the individual creativity we all carry within; I love the accidental colours that can turn up in the dye pot, the springy sponginess of freshly-carded fleece, and the luxurious drape of top dizzing of wool combs. I love every step of the yarn-making process, from unrolling a new fleece strongly redolent of farm life, through gentle cleaning, dyeing and preparing of fibres until finally it's time to draft and spin. I celebrate the potential of every skein that comes off my wheel and goes out into the world…
