About

My business Fast Winn Photography is named after my 10 year old Arabian horse Winn. In Fast Winn I have combined two of my passions horses and photography. I have a degree in Business Management and have taken photography courses from Pima Collage and the Equine Photographers Network. I belong to the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and the Equine Photographers Network.

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and in central Alabama. In 1993 we moved to Tucson Arizona and settled in a rural area near the Tortolita Mountians Northwest of Tucson AZ. The Arizona desert is right out my front and back doors.

Living in the desert gives me access to many desert animals. I have taken photos of the Harris Hawks that hunt the neighborhood. It is always a thrill to be close to nature and be able to get a great photo of those moments.

I have recently retired from being an IT Project Manager to spend time riding my horses and to pursue photography. Most of my photos are taken near my home, in the Catalina Mountains, the Dragoon Mountain Ranch, San Javier Mission, Tumacacri National Park and Benson Arizona.

When I’m out in the desert taking photo I have to watch for cactus as they can sneak up on me and strike without warning. In the desert, I also have to watch for coyotes, deer, squirrels, hawks, javalina and rattlesnakes.

My photos have appeared in the Arizona Daily Star, the Center for Desert Archaeology’s newsletter Archaeology Southwest, Schmap Tucson Guide, Spanish Barb Breeders Association Newsletters, The American Livestock Breeds Conservancy's Newsletters, County Line Riders of Catalina Newsletters, Arizona Equine Resource Guide Newsletter, Nowpublic.com, Guardian Traffic Systems and Guardian Gate Hardware catalogs and websites.

The prints I have on Etsy are my favorite pictures and many have been enhanced in Photoshop. When you place your order I will have your prints in the mail within 3 business days. All prints are sent via US Mail.

If you require a fast mailing please contact me and I will do everything to get the photo to you when you need it. If the photo is damaged in shipping I will replace it as soon as possible. If you find that you don’t like the print I will take it back and give you credit towards another photo.

If you want a different size print, a different crop or want to see a sample of the print please email me at mkirk at fastwinn.com for a proof. I will send you a 4” x 6” proof of the photo.

I’m available to come to your home /ranch for a photo session if you are within a short distance of Tangerine and La Cholla. These sessions are structured to be relaxing and informal. My goal is to provide you with natural non-posed portraits that capture the relationships between people and their families. For more information on the photos session please see my website at http://www.fastwinn.com.

Thank you so much for visiting my shop on Etsy and let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,

Maureen Kirk-Detberner
