i also run a website, http://feltcafejapan.com, which is a resource for japanese crafts, crafting in japan, and craft info for folks visiting japan. if you have any suggestions, questions, requests, or contributions to this site, you are more than welcome!

my blog where i write about crafts and japan, is also here: www.feltcafejapan.com, and for archives, you can also visit my former blog here: www.feltcafe.blogspot.com

*felt
i make all large felt items and cozies by hand, in a direct felting process that involves wool, hot water, soap and friction. i also use needlefelting and have been known to combine these two techniques.

*i am a proud member of etsyFAST, the fiber arts street team http://www.etsyfast.com/ and the japan focus etsy team: http://japanfocusetsy.blogspot.com/

*gocco
the print gocco is a fantastic japanese tabletop screenprinting device. after several decades, the gocco parent company is no longer making gocco printers. they are still available new and used, although they are becoming more difficult to find. felt cafe is no longer selling any gocco printers, although supplies such as bulbs and screens and inks will be available in my shop.

the website of nehoc http://www.nehoc.com.au/printgocco/systems/index.htm is a great resource for information about the gocco, although they can't ship to the u.s.

the standard gocco is the pg 5 basic set. it is the replacement for the light blue b6 gocco that was discontinued several years ago. the pg 5 is orange and has a few small design improvements, but prints on the same size paper as the b6. the print area is about postcard size, and the masters are b6 size.

this and other goccos can be used to print on fabric using the same supplies and a different ink for fabric.

you can see my gocco tutorial on my blog, at:

*shipping
default shipping for books is EMS, which is extremely fast and secure shipping from japan. default shipping for fabric and smaller items is airmail shipping from japan. anytime you would like more information or to know about other shipping options, just ask.
