Born in the Southwest, now a resident of lovely Oregon, I've been making art since before I could talk. I received a BA in Drawing and Painting from Portland State University in 2006, and have shown all over Portland.

I made my first plush when I was probably around 6 years old, I think it was a horse for my mom. It was hand stitched with some leftover piece of fabric and probably very wonky. I was a lonely child, as we moved a lot and I was shy, so I took comfort in the stuffed animals and dolls I had. They all had unique and sometimes bizarre personalities. Even to this day, beyond logic, I feel like they are alive somehow, and feel sorry for them when they are in a box.

I have to say I'm not a big fan of felt, but I'm warming up to it's versatility. Somehow the texture always reminded me of the feeling you get with fingernails on a chalkboard…
