I love to make Prehistoric looking Metal Monster fish !

Born and raised in Southern California I have always been exploring the many wonders of nature through scuba diving, hiking, camping and off road desert riding. My first job was as a Paleo-monitor. I monitored for fossils after several 52 ton earth movers had scraped the hillsides in preparation for new communities. I'd have to say the most exciting pieces I found were a mastodon tusk, a saber-toothed salmon canine tooth and a pinniped (Seal) canine tooth that was an unknown type (dating from the Miocene fossil period - 12 to 15 million years ago).
I like to think if I were a prehistoric monster fish, I would look exactly like the ones I create...bad ass and battle-worn!
All of my fish start out from idea to sketch and the hunt for the right metal that will become its personality…

All of my fish start out from idea to sketch and the hunt for the right metal that will become its personality. Most of the metal I use is salvaged and can be from mufflers, hot water heaters or any good strong metal that will weather naturally. Although I may repeat a certain type of fish, no two are exactly alike, as they are hand built without patterns. I sign each piece with my initials P.A. inside of the mouth or under the bottom jaw with my torch.
During most of the week I work as a licensed plumber.
