Welcome to Firebabies
Lampworking (making glass beads with a torch) is an art that I wish I had learned about many years ago. Growing up in my dad's welding shop, I learned about torches, fire, oxygen and creativity. Little did I know that it could be applied to glass with such beautiful results. There is something beautiful in the free forming of glass. Watching it go from one stage to another and seeing that they all fit so well together in the end. So many colors of glass and the chemical reactions are endless. There was a time when I wanted to draw and paint, but I was not successful at it. I love for my work to take on an abstract appearance, and working with glass allows me to do just that. Beautiful complex simplicity!

fire, glass, fine silver, glass frit, glass shards, lots of fire flames Old coke bottles, beer bottles, wine bottles, any glass that my torch will melt to recycle into beads
