I am a self-representing artist who is also a licensed medical professional. I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. My grandfather was a sculptor and created many animals on the mountains outside the house. I spent summers sleeping on the porch, but not until I had caught enough fireflies! I am a self-representing artist who is also a licensed medical professional. I grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota. My grandfather was a sculptor and created many animals on the mountains outside the house. I spent summers sleeping on the porch, but not until I had caught enough fireflies! Those years inspired me to use my imagination and I have been doing so ever since.I continue to study and take classes in art and do a lot of study on my own. Nothing makes me happier than when a customer says the art "spoke" to him or her and that they related to it. I absolutely love what I am doing now, and bless you for looking!

A note about encaustic paintings:

They are wonderfully lustrous and can be buffed occasionally. Since the surface is beeswax, it is scratchable. They should be out of direct sunlight and not in the trunk of a car. Other than that normal placement in a daylight filled room is just fine. Melting point of wax is 146 degrees, so in a normal home that is not in flames, it will be fine. Such works actually last much longer than other paints. Many were done in anciet times and exist today. Please do not hesitate to ask questions and if I do not know I will find out for you...
