About

I am a high school art teacher, lapidary artist, painter, photographer, traveler, and collector. I have always been fascinated with nature, science, art, crystals, rocks, and minerals since I was very young. As an artist my goal is to combine art with my scientific interests. I am amazed by the geometry and structure of crystals, rocks, and minerals and have used this as a basis for creating art and photographs that reflect comparisons of the architecture of natural and man made structures. I am fascinated with light in my photography and enjoy using spirals in my work because they are some of the oldest geometric shapes in ancient artwork. I respect all creations and cultures in this world and strive to find beautiful specimens from all around the world for others to enjoy.

Adam and I have invested in our own lapidary equipment to cut rocks, polish cabochons, and freeform cabochons as well as a slab saw, Genie, flat lap, sphere maker, and can polish our own crystals. We also have a few rock tumblers as well. We make our own cabochons from rough material, and will be listing more of our lapidary art soon! We will also bringing some new designs using electro-forming. We have some new designs we can not wait to finish.

I use sterling silver, solid brass, solid copper, and stainless steel wire and these wires are all nickel free. I sometimes use a gold craft wire that contains nickel at .01% that is made by Bead Smith Please check the listing for the type of wire used. I strive to emphasize the stone using the wire to enhance it's beauty and prefer to invent my own wrapping techniques so that each pendant is wrapped uniquely different and not similar to others. There will never be the same stone or lines used to wrap them. I know that sometimes being inventive also involves many attempts and failures but I believe this is how we learn through our creative experimentations. I am grateful to see so many people on here creating, inventing and inspiring each other. What an awesome place for creative people to thrive!

Natural fragrant woods and aromatherapy are also other areas of intrigue for me. I believe fragrance can also bring healing and helps with a positive mind, body and spiritual connection. I also have a passion for music and enjoy playing rhythm guitar, a little bass, as well as the exploration of sound. Maybe one day I can create jewelry that combines aromatherapy, crystal vibrations, and sounds! I hope you will enjoy my shop that will also have paintings and photography soon!
