Hi. My name is JackieI Thank you for stopping by my online Etsy storefront, Flying Pigs Funtabulous Kids Wear! I bit about me and how I became a fabric fanatic:

I always enjoyed looking on as my mother would sew for me. She made me the most unique dresses for my school dances. And, what she made me for shcool, well, they were mostly double knits!! We won't go there!

My passion for fabrics and sewing fully manifested itself in Junior High School, which is now known as "middle school, when I took a Home Economics class, which is now know as Life Skills.

I learned to cook, which I also love to do. Also, to clean, which I do well, but not with so much passion! And of course, I learned to sew! My first class project was, well, for lack of a better word, pitiful!…

My first class project was, well, for lack of a better word, pitiful!

My sweet Mama, loaded me up in the Chrysler Cordoba and off we went to the downtown fabric store. Once I stepped inside, I knew that I wanted to stay forever! There were fabrics of every color , combination, and texture imaginable! After shopping for hours, it seemed, I finally decided on a plaid and I was making a shirt out of it ...... with a zipper. Dum da dum, dum dummmm... . It was mainly magenta, blue and green. It had a strange sort of 'stringy' texture to it. I slept with it next to my bed as I dozed off imagining what my creation would look like after sewing it up ~ ~ ~
Well, the next day, I was sewing along fine until the time to put in the zipper ....Five times I ripped that crazy thing out and finally, it was presentable... barley. I wore that shirt with pride and had no issues with the fact that it zipped up slightly sideways!

Fastforward 35+ years.5+ years! I have sewn all types of items, but, I LOVE sewing and dressing young children. It reminds me to be young spirited and have fun! And, to not take life so seriously!

My love of fabric was broadened again while living in Europe. They have fabulous textiles and a fabric store on almost every corner! The landscapes there are exquisite, again, expanding my love of color and the way God put them all together to make such a beautiful creation.

While there, I met a German woman who spoke no english, and my German was 'iffy' at best! Well, she saw that I was always briinging in bags from the fabric store. She approached me and we managed to communicate enough that she taught me to make French seams! I used that technique until I purchased my serger! I love my serger, but Gretta and French seams remain close to my heart!

I am a wife to hubs, Ray and a mom to 6 amazing children! Keith, 33, Cody, 30, Craig, 28, Angie, 25, Eleesha, 16 and Kyndal Grace, 14. I love them all with all I have in me. Each of them bring a joy and love to my life in their own unique way!

I also have, 3 daughter-in-loves, Krissy, Sari & JerriLynn, whom I adore! And a precious son-in-love, Jeremy!

You gussed it, they have blessed me with 2 of the most precious grand girls in this world! Makyia is 7 and Isabel (Izzy), is 3. They are the light of my life. I am sure you will be seeing them in some of my photos! They love to wear what Nini (me) made! And, I LOVE for them too! I have fun dressing up my girlies!*********************UPDATE********************************* ****New baby grandson, WYATT DANIEL, will be arriving to join us in February 2012*****

Now you know a bit about how I came to be a seamstress and designer!

Enjoy shopping and please let me know if you have a vision in your heart for a particular item. I am always willing to help you make it a reality!

I'm 'sew" blessed to love what I do and do what I love!
