Rina's Profile

About

I hail from Flagstaff, Arizona where the skies are pink, the elevation is high and the pine trees smell like strawberry vanilla milkshakes. I was born in the mountains and have had the opportunity to live in the big city, tundra, desert & tropics, but forests are still my favorite.

20% of each purchase you make from here gets delivered to the American Forest Foundation, a tiny give back for the paper that gets used for this photography. I am a transcendentalist by nature (pun intended) and am highly inspired by the natural world. I think all the questions to life can be found there & the answers, even higher.

I first loved the physical process of photography, the music & wheels of it. The visual attraction came later. I enjoyed the way my hands felt gliding across smooth papers in dark room developing trays, the sound of an old fashioned camera opening it's shutter. These elements seduced me at a young age. I enjoyed playing the role of a tiny scientist and where photographs have literally taken me-how looking at them can ignite a dream and then a plane ticket, an adventure, and then a story with pictures to share so the whole process can circle back again.

I always said I like my photographs like I like my men: raw, torn, broken & totally messed up. Like my writing my photographs have a non linear core. This may or may not come out in the photographs I choose to display on etsy, but it is behind what I find beautiful.

I am a yellow gemini, a frequent flyer, compulsive researcher. A church hopper, slow reader, island implant. I am an estranged pianist, an awkward partier, & prolific nick-namer. I am a rootless itinerant who loves Christmas and fears function. Rarely simple, I am over complicated, and sweet on sweet tea.

I'm best known for being dinnie_the_dot on twitter, stop in and tweet me a hello sometime!!

I used to be asenseofplacephotogr on etsy but now use that only as a buyer account. The feedback from my two years on that account is a testimony to my work ethic and product. Read all about it here: http://www.etsy.com/people/ASenseofPlacePhotogr/feedback?ref=pr_feedback

Happy to be seen on...
