About

I am the mother of two small children living in beautiful, and sometimes smelly, Milwaukee Wisconsin. I try not to say bag with a long A, but often forget, and I spend most of my year dressed for winter. I pretend I'm in any of the Scandinavian countries to get through it.

I am completely self taught in everything I do, as art school was put on hold to have a baby, and then another, then found to be an unnecessary expense(and that's how I make myself feel better about not being able to afford it!)

My embroideries are extensions of the stories that start in my dreams, and My animals are the toys I wanted when I was a little girl(How I longed to hold a baby bunny in the palms of my hands!), and the toys I make for my own children.

This is what I do because I have to, I absolutely always have to be creating...and my four year old is always asking me to make new things, which I'm thrilled to do as it keeps me very busy and challenges me more than I have ever been before.

This is also what I do to keep us afloat. My husband just started school again, and the next four years are going to be quite an adventure for a family of four living on a college students budget. I'm so excited to be starting this journey and truly living the life of artists.
I'm also excited to share it all at http://www.foxinthewoods.com

Please visit, comment, and see where this takes us!

I also have a shop where I sell prints of my illustrations at eekdesign.etsy.com
While I LOVE to paint and draw, I've had to temporarily hang up my brushes as it's very challenging thing to do on the dining room table with a 20month and 4 year old who want to do everything I am doing, rightontopofme. Embroidery and crochet are much easier to pick up and put down, and that suits me just fine right now.
Please enjoy everything I have made for you, and thank you so much for looking!
I truly appreciate EVERY wandering pair of eyes.
