About

My interest in pottery began when one of my sisters, then an art student, gave me a small group of hand-made pots as a Christmas gift in the early 1970’s. The pots demanded to be touched, held and used, as well as to be visually admired. I found the combination of functional form and aesthetic appeal irresistible, and soon found my collection growing. Yet the pots held such fascination for me that I eventually found a way to carve out the time to learn the craft and art of pottery making. I've been making pottery now for more than 20 years, selling at art fairs and consignment shops as well as here on Etsy.

Now that my first career is behind me, I am delighted to be able to dedicate more time to creating pots for others to use and enjoy. I work with a variety of clay bodies, glazes, and firing methods. In my work, I emphasize functional forms that add beauty to life through their use as everyday objects. Each of my pots is one of a kind, although they may share certain elements of form, feeling, and function.
