Francesca is a self-taught artist best known for her detailed biro drawings on brown paper and acrylic landscape paintings of Northumberland. Influenced in equal measure by contemporary art and traditional techniques, she describes her style as 'traditional realism with a contemporary feel.'

Her style and subject matter is as varied as it is distinctive, with collections of work ranging from fine monochrome pen drawings, to intensely colourful landscape paintings to very limited palette landscape paintings depicting the natural beauty of the North East.

Also an accomplished pianist, Francesca completed a Degree in Music Performance at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2010 but after graduating began working as an artist.

She has exhibited widely in Scotland and the north of England and is represented by a number of galleries in the UK. She has undertaken many private and corporate commissions and has also illustrated for award winning publisher, Bradt Travel Guides, contributing to their 2012 publication, 'Slow Northumberland & Durham.'​

Francesca won the poster competition for Alnmouth Arts Festival in 2012 resulting in her painting 'Alnmouth Estuary' being used for all the publicity advertising the event. She has had paintings pre-selected for the prestigious Royal Society of Marine Artists Annual Exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London for two consecutive years and was recently filmed painting for a news broadcast on French TV channel, TF1.​​
