About

I was born and raised out on the flats East of East L.A. Under the tutelage of a benevolent mother I was introduced to art early. She set me in front of an easel at the age of four and it seemed from the start to be a good fit. Never having frequented Art school or been the victim of formal training I made my way as best I could. Spending the 1960's in the San Francisco Bay Area was quite the experience. Culturally, socially and politically charged times certainly gave one plenty of width and breadth for personal expression of one kind and another. Being chased to the hinter lands of Central Oregon for the past 35 years for various asundry reasons also fed the fires of expression but for a very different reason. Living in a cultural vacuum can be liberating. With no audience the world becomes the audience. With no teachers the world becomes your teacher. Nature takes over. Into my seventh decade, now of trying to learn the art of Art I have to say the world has become a strange and foreboding place. But, in spite of this, Art has prospered in my lifetime. A human ambiance that seems to work the perpetrating artist and their receptive audience. And the Land was Good- so on and so forth. Words of wisdom - Be Productive.
Art for Art's sake.
