About

I'm a retired elementary school teacher longing for an outlet to express my creative side. My daughter introduced me to Etsy, and the rest is history! I love to quilt, knit, crochet, cross-stitch, and do lots of other handcrafting projects. When I'm not working on projects for my Etsy shop, I love to read historical fiction, take walks, and spend time with family and friends. I'm married, have three grown children (all of them married), two granddaughters, two grandson, and three "grand-puppies".

I have tried nearly every kind of needlecraft from tatting to rug-braiding. I welcome the challenge of custom orders. I have made an "authentic" 1860s men's longcoat for an Abraham Lincoln historical interpreter. I created custom bags to protect video and lighting equipment for a production company.

I have designed an original crocheted afghan pattern. My quilting frame was made by my grandfather in the 1930s, and I inherited the love and talent of hand-quilting and crocheting from both of my grandmothers. Among my creations are two hand-quilted full bed sized memory quilts and several smaller quilts. I also like to fashion old jeans into comforters, rag rugs, tote bags and other one-of-a-kind items. Convo me if you are interested in having me create something unique for you!

Thanks for exploring my shop and being interested in learning more about me! If you like my banner and avatar, it was designed by lauraemily83. She's my daughter!

"You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced (found!) by the One most dear to you.
"You're blessed when you're content with just who you are-- no more, no less. (You're a treasure.) That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought."
From Matthew 5, The Message (parentheses mine)
