Fennel Skellyman's hand beaded creations incorporate new and vintage materials procured from both domestic as well as international sources including Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, and Japan. Inspired by the natural beauty of Northern California and the majesty of the ocean floors beyond, his creations have adorned such notables as George Clinton, Bernie Worrell and Justin Vivian Bond. Most recently, his work was prominently worn at the red carpet event celebrating the Tony award-winning Broadway phenomenon The Book Of Mormon.
Fennel's visual art combines photography, painting, textile, and assemblage to create stunning works that have shown in galleries throughout New York and California. In 1996, he began working with the brilliant artisans of General Bead - San Francisco's premier bead palace.
