Gaby Fornari's Profile
In fifth grade, I was given the opportunity to start my own 'business' and sell products to the rest of the school. My friend and I sold "friendship pins," which consisted of simple beads threaded on to safety pins (I'm sure you've are familiar!). We even took special orders. It was a great experience in creating wearable artwork and also satisfying requests from customers.
Not much has changed since then, except my chosen media! I love working with metals, primarily because I can manipulate metals' shape, size, color, sheen, surface, etc. There are endless possibilities! Anything sparkly and pretty to add to metals makes me smile - lapis, Swarovski crystals, gemstones of all kinds. Mixing metals is also alluring - brass and copper, copper and silver, etc. My husband's old and broken percussion cymbals provide inspiration and materials for the cymbal jewelry line…
