About

My journey with jewelry making began with a vacation years ago in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I wanted to purchase a neat piece of jewelry for myself as a memory of our wonderful family vacation. When I could not find a bracelet that was not made with stretchy cord, I resolved to take lessons at Jo Ann's Craft Store to learn the basics of jewelry making. That lit the flames of passion for creating jewelry. So many different techniques to learn and try and so little time! Color combinations intrigue me as well as different kinds and textures of metals. From making gifts for my family and friends, one thing led to another and I decided to open my first shop on Etsy so many years ago. I love the look of nature in my designs and with so many different kinds of jewelry techniques available, the possibilities are endless! My next endeavor is with frames and resin.

I am a retired Grandmother of three wonderful Grandchildren. Two girls, one is very crafty like me and loves to sew, crochet, paint, etc. The other girl is a competitive ice skater and hopes to make it to the Olympics some day., The boy plays golf on his high school team.

I have been blessed with these skills and enjoy sharing my designs with other people , hoping they will enjoy wearing my little treasures.

Donations of my jewelry are regularly made to fundraisers at my church and for friends with medical issues. 20% of the proceeds of my Etsy shop are donated to: Rescued Rescuers: Dachshunds and Friends of the Emerald Isle in Florida. We have a rescued Dachshund Grandog named Douglas that we dearly love and hence the idea for the donations.

So with that said, Welcome to my Etay Shop. Garden Gate Designs
