About

NATURE ISN'T PERFECT - IT'S SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL.

Real leaves are "fossilized" in cement, painted and sealed.

Each item is cast from a live leaf and there are folds, creases, pinholes and more. I capture nature in stone but the process has its surprises. That is after all, the process of life, isn't it?!

After years of tweaking the process I have created thousands of leaves. I do not teach classes but make money by producing pieces (lots of heavy lifting). I constantly experiment with new colors!

A LITTLE HISTORY:

I have cast over 60+ different types of leaves ranging from 4 inches to 6 feet in size.

I welcome custom orders for anniversaries (esp. bronze or copper), retirement gifts, house warming gifts, birthdays, etc.

As of 2015, I will introduce other garden-related products and the leaves will become my secondary product.

It takes a lot of work to produce these cast leaf pieces. Grow the leaves, cast into cement, cure for 30 days (hardening), paint, seal and ship. I grow many of my own leaves and have friends tending plants in their gardens.

My gunnera plants are about 6 years old grown exclusively for casting and while I do not have space in my own yard I do create pieces for large leaf sculptures and fountains.

My largest casting to date is a 6 foot wide gunnera cast for fountain use, followed by 6 foot bananas, 4-3-2 foot gunneras, many four foot tetrapanaxes and several three foot elephant ears... and more (than the yard can hold)...

Local buyers, nursery and gallery requests (for Portland or Salem Metro), contact me about oversized pieces, delivery options, bulk purchases or special invoicing.
