Gayle Neely's Profile

About

I have loved working with fabrics and yarns for years. My mother sewed dresses occasionally for me as a child, using her mother's old electric machine, which I have now. I made an apron and skirt in my 7th grade home ec class in 1964. Mom showed me how to knit when I was 15, then my college roommate taught me to crochet. I continued to learn from books and sewing shows on tv, especially being inspired by Nancy Zieman. I took quilting classes too.
So for years I have sewn and knitted and crocheted my own clothes and for my husband, relatives and our homes, plus designed sweaters. I won a blue ribbon at the county fair for my husband's fisherman sweater.

I have sold my crafts at local craft shows for over twenty years. With age, we have cut back on that and Bob helped me opened my Etsy shop in November 2013.
We love our three pet cats and dogs we had in past, so I like fabrics featuring pets and animals as well as making items for them.
I am very old fashioned and dress modestly to serve the Lord, so enjoy making items for other ladies also.
Being a bit of a perfectionist, I try to do the best job possible in all I make.

***All items made in my smoke and perfume free home, as I have allergies like many of you. I keep the cats off my fabric and yarn!
