Lee Foster's Profile
Until taking early retirement in 2004, I was a reporter and columnist for the statewide newspaper here in Connecticut. Since then I finally had time to address the boxes of linens left to me by my grandmother Genie.
I put the outmoded doillies, antimacassars and tea cloths to use as embellishment for handcrafted accent pillows. Family members loved them as gifts, so I thought others might as well.
While I was busily sewing pillows, my handy, store-bought cellphone pouch broke. I took it apart and figured out how to re-create it in khaki and denim. I observed other women fishing around in purses for ringing phones and realized they needed one of my pouches, too!
Meanwhile, I await the next lightning strike of inspiration to set me onto a new project.
I live with my also-semi-retired husband (see his Digdown Gallery on Etsy), and Rita the Pembroke Welsh Corgi -- who will never retire from her job…
