I've always been most happy expressing myself artistically. When I was a little girl, I even painted seashells...and yes, I DID sell them by the seashore!! lol! My mom taught me how to paint them, and those times were precious! Thanks Mom:) I have sketched animals as long as I can remember going through boxes of crayons! I used clay when I was a teen, but I NEVER thought that I would turn into a sculptor!

Now I specialize in Custom Sculptures of peoples pets. I strive for realism with a touch of whimsey! All of my sculptures are poseable which adds to the fun!

I put much love into each one of my creations. get so much happiness from making these little pets, and also from the joy that it gives others. People have told me that they have tears of happiness when they open the box and see their little replica of their pet.

Now I have discovered the world of needle felting, which is sculpting wool with a single needle. This does take hours of work, but each is a miracle as an adorable dog emerges from a fluffy pile of wool. I have had to train my brain to think 3D instead of flat. Quite a challenge!

~Pet Fur~

I love adding the fur to the sculptures and use lots of luxury fibers like alpaca, silk, down, cashmere, angora, and mohair.
Because of this, I chose Gourmet Felted as my business name, as the fibers are gourmet compared to plain wool!

~Memorial Sculptures~

These are the most precious to me and I always put extra time into them as this little sculpture will bring back the good times. Many people send me their pets fur and YES I do add these to the sculpture to make them special!

I just got the most lovely feedback for a calico kitty that I just finished named Nelly.

~Feedback on Nelly Sculpture~

"The detail you put into the sculpture is absolutely amazing, what a beautiful piece art. I love it! And I know my family will love it, just like they loved the yorkie sculptures. It is sure nice what you're doing, making beautiful artwork to memorialize someone's beloved pet. It gives a sense of closure for the owners and family, which really helps ease the loss...Thank you!"

That really touched my heart! That's why I create these sculptures! It is truly rewarding to me.

~Signature~

All sculptures come with a Certificate if Authenticity, signed by me, with photo and description of the designed sculpture. My sculptures are initialed and the year is also on the underside of all my sculptures so you know that you are getting an original design from me.

I have sent my sculptures all over the world and have sold my work in a local Hallmark store! Many people collect my sculptures, and each is unique and one of a kind. I use no patterns or kits to create my sculptures.

~Published!!

I was so excited to be published in Teddy Bear Review magazine on two occasions! Seeing my little dogs in a magazine was a thrill!!

Not toys, but works of art made for the discerning collector. Yes, they are made for you, from the heart!
