About

Hi, I’m Jennifer originally from sunny South Florida, but now I live in the beautiful and mountainous Tennessee. I’ll never loose my love for the salty ocean breeze or the swaying palms that dance on the beach but for now we call this home. And there’s nothing like the true southern hospitality found here in TN.

Growing up my sister and I spent a lot of time in my mother’s glass shop running around spending all mom’s money in the local shops but eventually I grabbed my chance to learn this family trade and spent hours at her wheel. Mom may have acquired her talents and skills from grandpa but she built her business on her own from the ground up. Did I mention she was a single mom at that?

Starting with nothing but a box of ashtrays and mugs she cut names and monograms into glassware for customers from all over the world. She grew from a small humble booth in the vacuum cleaner section of Sears to a prime spot in the 2nd largest attraction in Florida, The Thunderbird SwapShop, to a beautiful retail gift shoppe location of her own in Coral Springs, FL. By then I was cutting glass too and the name changed to GLASS ENGRAVING BY SUZANNE AND JENNIFER. I remember we would spend all day cutting, creating, cutting and creating. You never knew what little thing might inspire you that day. Some things for example were just a favorite mug or jewelry box but others were truly special pieces of art that marked a special time, celebration or person in our lives. Our work is in thousands of homes all over and that really does make me proud.

Six years ago mom slowly retired from engraving as her love for painting grew. Now she is a crazy-amazing faux finisher. You can check out her work at www.SuzanneKay.net. As for me, I have an adorable little shop in Historic Jonesborough TN… and here I am with my Etsy store and so excited about it! Etsy has been a true inspiration to just how exciting handmade can be (I heart Etsy).

If you have any great, fun, unique, quirky ideas for me, I’d love to hear them please send me a convo.
