About

They say to be an artist you need to have a strong desire not to wake up early. I have found that I definitely qualify :)

My earliest memories are of hearing trains clacking and their whistles blowing as they roared by. In the 1950's my dad worked building tracks for the railroad. We lived and traveled in a boxcar and had no electricity. Our entertainment was art, singing, dancing and puppet shows. I remember staying up late watching my dad paint by kerosene lamp light. He would let me paint with him. While my dad and the other men went off to work. My mom, my pet deer and I would go for long walks in the country and would pick up stones, rusty things and whatever else that might catch our eyes. We would bring them home and make beautiful things. It was a wonderful gypsy lifestyle.

I have spent many years drawing and painting, and this has brought me much enjoyment. I decided I would like to wear my art and started making beautiful jewelry out of odd and found objects. I used to have a Lil red trike, and if you were to see me now I would be on my big red recumbent trike peddling around the country areas of the small town I live in. As in my youth I take long rides collecting artifacts that I find discarded along the paths I take. After my rides I come home and use these and other goodies to make whimsical free style jewelry.

I hope you enjoy the treasures you will find here in the gypsy carriage as much as I enjoy making them. And now it's time for me to get a hot cup of coffee, sit down with my cats and make more mystery baubles.

Peace and Wonder! Harm Ye None!
