Living in Northern Minnesota the winters are long, so I started Wood Carving in 1991 to add to my hobbies of knitting, sewing, and crocheting. I took a few lessons, and have gotten helpful ideas from books, and fellow carvers. Since I've retired I have more time to devote to carving, therefore I've started selling a few pieces.
Because each piece is hand carved, there are no two alike. They are created from Minnesota Basswood, and both the birds and jewelry have wood burned feather detailing. They are painted with acrylic paints, and sealed with acrylic matte sealer. The birds have glass eyes and pewter feet, and are mounted on driftwood that I retrieve from the shores of Lake Superior.
If you would like feather jewelry in some other color, please convo me, and I'll be happy to work with you…
