Catherine Witherell's Profile
About
I'm a mixed media jewelry artist and I've been working with silver in the form of PMC (precious metal clay) since 2000. I also mix in sterling silver, argentium silver, sometimes a little brass, gold filled wire, commercial and handmade chain and details in 14K, 18K, and 22K gold. I like to use all kinds of things in my artwork and I stand behind the quality and beauty in each piece I sell.
Metal clay is a relatively new substance that is made up of finely ground particles of pure silver and after being formed into something interesting, it's fired in a kiln and sinters into a solid silver object. Before I ever heard of this stuff, I was a potter and sculptor so when I did hear about it, I got very excited and spent years experimenting before I ever decided to sell my work.
I've written two magazine articles about my designs…
