I live in a small cedar house in the middle of the woods. Although trained in drawing and printmaking, I, like other folks on Etsy, just love making things. I started making hats for myself a few years ago and wear one of my handmade hats or headbands from my personal collection every day. I am hooked on making and wearing them. More recently, I have been making cuffs. Way too much fun!!! They are like small, bejeweled hats!

I am attracted to the pattern, color, texture and history of fabrics. Some materials in my work are from my travels years ago in Mexico, Guatemala, India, Nepal and Thailand. Others are recycled from clothing I have not worn for years. I am particularly fond of anything velvet, vintage fuzzy tapestries and embroidery from all over the world. Recently I have been buying fabrics and materials to supplement my own collection. These days everything looks like a hat or cuff to me. I am cutting any fabric in sight.

My sturdy unisex one-of-a-kind hats and cuffs are made for wearing.

Each hat, headband or cuff comes with its own history in the fabrics, decoration and sewing. Wearing one of them will bring your history to it.

Enjoy.
