Gypsy Hawk's Profile
I started making jewelry in 2010 after moving from Maryland to Colorado.I was completely inspired by my new surroundings and the energy that I felt there. I had always liked jewelry and was curious about the process of metalsmithing and making an actual wearable piece of art. I enjoy taking pieces that are found in nature and turning them into jewelry. Like naturally shed deer antlers and crystals from the earth. Using items like these is what gives me that connection to nature and what I was inspired by from moving to the mountains.
Fast forward to 2014 I started having some of my naturally shed antlers and various animal claws cast in Portland, OR. This process has taken my work to the next level. Having pieces that are from nature and cast into bronze or silver pieces is truly amazing. It gives the wearer a more polished look without feeling too casual…
