About

My knitting experience began a few years back from a desire to challenge myself to learn something new. Knitting led to the exploration of fibers and to spinning yarn. I attended the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO a few years ago and the world of alpacas found a new supporter. About

My knitting experience began a few years back from a desire to challenge myself to learn something new. Knitting led to the exploration of fibers and to spinning yarn. I attended the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO a few years ago and the world of alpacas found a new supporter. I truly adore these peaceful animals and have met Llamas, angora rabbits and CVM sheep in the process.

I have definitely become a fiber addict and love both animal and plant fibers alike. In 2012, I purchased a Navajo spindle and Russian spindle. I am now learning how to spin yarn for weavers and create cobweb lace weight yarn. In 2013, I added a Great Wheel/Walking Wheel to the collection which also makes thin yarn and is great for cotton spinning.

The knitting books I own have not only provided patterns but have been history lessons coupled with cultural explorations of the region they represent (Estonia, Alaska, etc.). The fiber community is a vibrant arena with many personalities but at its core it’s filled with animal lovers and a spirit of helping one another.

You can follow my journey of knitting, spinning and selling my creations on Twitter @Nashc7. My hand knit shawls are now carried at Found Antique & Artisan Mall in Wheatridge, Colorado.
