Jade Poirier's Profile

About

I learned to knit, crochet and embroider from my grandmother when I was 8 or 9 years old and have been doing it ever since. At first it was a hobby, making doll clothes, joining 4-H, where I exhibited items at fairs, then making clothing and housewares for myself and others, continuing to expand my skills until I felt confident enough to sell my work.

I also enjoyed horseback riding, photography, writing stories and poetry while I was growing up. I have continued my interest in photography to the present. I attended classes at WSU in fine arts, and later recieved an Associates degree in Law Enforcement from Spokane Community College. You can find my photos for sale at http://poirierjade.imagekind.com/overview and at www.dreamworksphoto.net, my blog.

I have 3 grown children,a son and 2 daughters. My youngest daughter, Amber, now 32,…

I have 3 grown children,a son and 2 daughters. My youngest daughter, Amber, now 32, is touring, hiking, photographing and blogging about the US and several other countries. She holds a degree from Portland State University, and works as a Photographer, Web Site Designer and Graphic Artist. She has also done some fashion and jewelry design. When it comes to setting up my web sites and other technical issues, she is my mentor and my savior. My son, Travis and daughter, Sonja live in Spokane, Washington.

Amber introduced me to Etsy, and I am pleased to belong to the etsy community while I set up and fine tune my shop to reflect my personality. Amber's Etsy shops include Nativetongue Jewelry and Lostlogo Photography.

I want to welcome you to my shop and encourage you to explore Etsy and the works of its many talented artisans and designers. I also want to invite you to take the "Buy Handmade" pledge and share it with your family and friends.
