About

I have always been a make-it-from-scratch kind of person. Living in a rural area, one of the hardest things for me - honestly - is my distance from Home Depot. But wherever I am, I love to make things, fix things, cover 'em up, strip 'em down, and if it doens't look terrible halfway through the process, I'm probably not doing it right. I think Etsy is a brilliant idea and such a great jump start to all these little businesses that would otherwise be operating in obscurity (including mine).

The Tufted Frog began as just another DIY project. I made a headboard for myself, and then one for my neighbor - a neighbor who bugged me to start selling them until I did!

My skills/style have evolved over the last few years, and although I cringe at some of my first projects, it's such a great feeling to be in charge of my own work and have the freedom to learn from my experiences.

I dream of having my own studio space someday, but until then, each headboard is made in my kitchen and photographed in my guest room. I have a very understanding husband who has not once complained about the eternal messes of loose staples, strings, and bits of stuffing all over our house. I love you Randall! For now, our only child is a pitiful-looking basset hound, Dooby, who is convinced he is helping me by running off with my tools. But he's learning.

So enjoy looking at my items - don't miss my Facebook gallery at facebook.com/TheTuftedFrog - and don't hesitate to ask questions. Ask away!
