Holly Hinkle's Profile

About

I am hermit who lives in a log cabin on a mountain in West Virginia who creates soulful art that I love to share with the world. I conjure up my art in my Studio in the Woods , which sits along a curving dirt road in Mystic Hollow. I once ran out of paper and canvas but I had a stack of scrap wood handy. So...my primary medium is recycled scrap wood and other found objects which I put together like a puzzle to make funky wall sculptures and freestanding sculptures. What's unique about my wood fragment sculptures is that I never cut the wood I find, I use it as it is. So each creation is a one of a kind!
My latest love is for oil pastels. I am experimenting with many techniques and mixing them with other mediums , oil paints, acrylics and ink. This is now primarily what I will be offering in my shop , soon I just may figure out how I can mix oil pastels with my recycled wood creations, stay tuned!…

When not lost in time creating in my studio, I can be found working in my vegetable garden , tending to our colorful flock of chickens , hanging out with the goats , chatting with our pigs or taking a hike through our magical woods.
