My six word story: "What can I make with that?"

A little about me:

I discovered jewelry-making in 2007 when a co-worker showed me the jewelry she had made. I was impressed, interested, and had lots of questions. Before long I was laying awake at night thinking of wonderful color combinations for her jewelry. Then it dawned on me that I should start using these ideas to make my own jewelry!

Cherry, my co-worker, gave me some basic tips and told me what tools I would need to get started and I was off and running! I have always loved colors, and my new-found hobby gave me a wonderful outlet for my creativity.

A year and a half later I quit my corporate job to move to a different state and marry my husband. I had assumed that I would find a similar job here, but the timing was bad and companies were just starting to conduct massive layoffs. With no job offers on the horizon, I turned to jewelry full time. I struggled with an independent website and local retail selling before opening my Etsy shop, Holly&Sage, in March of 2010. This is where my success has blossomed, and I plan to stick around for a while!

Learning to create beautiful jewelry is a process - I am always learning new things.

I like to make things from recycled felted wool and other materials, too!
