Hope Lum's Profile
I grew up in a creative household. My mother, her sister and brother and both my grandmothers dabbled in some combination of oil painting, ceramics, sewing and quilting. For me, summers were like a loosely organized art camp. I closely watched their every cut, stroke and stitch and tried to replicate their techniques when they were not looking. I was always pilfering through their supplies, much to their chagrin, and making a “hellacious mess,” to quote my mother.
Decades have passed, yet I’m still up to my same old tricks. When I’m not with my husband and kids, you can find me pilfering around antique, fabric and art stores asking myself, “I wonder what would happen if...” This is how Small Frocks was born.
