About

I have recently been asked about selling wholesale so I was looking at the formula for pricing and I discovered that my dresses were listed at or below wholesale prices. Because of that, my prices have increased. Baby wipe cases will also be affected. It is my hope that my customers will realize that each of these items are handmade by me, one at a time. These products are not mass produced in a factory with hundreds being made at a time. When I embroider a dress it takes at least 6-8 hours just to do the embroidery. It is not done by machine, I do them by hand just like our grandmothers did and like many of us learned to do as children. Many of the embroidered dresses are one-of-a-kind or one of maybe two-of-a-kind. Most are lined and have high quality lace edging. My prices are obtained by the standard formula of pricing except for the fact that I do not pay myself an hourly wage at this point for the time that I spend…

My prices are obtained by the standard formula of pricing except for the fact that I do not pay myself an hourly wage at this point for the time that I spend creating them primarily because I'm not convinced that anyone would pay those prices. It is my hope that you will see something that you love and that brings back loving memories of times gone by. Happy shopping!!!

I started my business with hand embroidered pillowcase dresses for little girls. If you don't know what those are they are precious little dresses made from a pillowcase that tie at each shoulder with pretty satin or grosgrain ribbon. Back in the time of the Depression most parents could not afford to purchase new clothing for their children and had to make do with things they had laying around the house. They became very good at re-purposing items like pillowcases. Pillowcases were often re-purposed as a cute little dress for their daughter. Those pillowcases became everyday wear for many little girls of the 1930's and my mom has told me that she remembers wearing such dresses when she was a little girl.

Today, I use new pillowcases that I have hand embroidered myself as well as vintage embroidered pillowcases for the purpose of creating a very special dress for your little one. These dresses become cherished family heirlooms to be passed down from generation to generation with the story of how it was worn my Mom or Grandma when they were a child.

You will also find bandana dresses in many different colors. These are made from actual bandanas that I have lined and trimmed with very pretty lace edgings.

For the Mommy and Baby that can't be seen with just any old wipe case, here I have special padded, fabric covered wipe cases that are trimmed with pretty braided trim in coordinating colors. These cases are great for the Mommy and Baby who are on the go and fit nicely into the diaper bag or Mommy's purse. Once the wipes are gone they are easily refilled or they may be re-purposed as make-up cases, travel first aid kits, little overnight cases for your smaller toiletries. They are great for carrying pens and pencils or crayons and a tablet to entertain your little one. Your imagination is your only limit for the many uses of the very versatile cases.

Pacifier Clips are also available through my shop. I have many different ribbons including some Disney designs. On one end I have attached a clip which has a special plastic insert to prevent damage to Baby's clothing. These are also handy for clipping toys to the car sear or stroller. Keeping the pacifier or toys where they belong instead of on the ground when Baby plays the "I'll drop and you'll pick up" game is very important.

I have many plans to add different items to my shop such as shoes to match the dresses, socks trimmed in lace to match the dresses (pictures on listing page), head bands, boys clothing, crib bedding, etc. My mind is full of great ideas so please visit again to see what exciting things I will be adding.

Now I hope you will take a few minutes to browse my listings and if you see anything you like, please visit my shop to purchase your favorite item. Also, please feel free to share this site with all your friends.

Thank you so much!! May God bless you and yours,

Cathy
