Hypho is a Greek affix that designates an open but intricately woven structure. It's the best word I've found to describe what I create.
I've been told that my beginnings as a wire artist took place when I was a child, as I rummaged through my grandfather’s scrap metal pile. However, I've taken a rather circuitous route to the creation of jewellery.
In the meantime, I've lived in France, Belgium and Spain and completed a Master’s Degree at Nantes University for my research on French fashion of the 1920s.
You'll find an unexpected combination of materials and textile techniques in my work. Necklaces are knitted by hand; stones and pearls are incorporated as the piece is formed. Weaving, braiding and sewing are also used to achieve certain effects.
