About

I am a homemaker and stay at home Mom who plays with clay on the side. I enjoy making strange and whimsical figures, but have been known to make something functional if the mood should strike me. I come up with many of the figures myself, however I am not opposed to suggestions from husband (or as I call him, my creative director). My sons inspire me to steer towards the robots and hobs. They are much happier and easygoing creatures than the guardians.

The first oddity I ever made was an alien angel. It came to me as I was shaping the clay to make the head of a regular, humdrum little angel. After growing up with a dad obsessed with all things extraterrestrial, it just fit. The first oddity I ever made was an alien angel. It came to me as I was shaping the clay to make the head of a regular, humdrum little angel. After growing up with a dad obsessed with all things extraterrestrial, it just fit. My creations have cultivated my fascination with aliens...their big and hollow eyes watch me in every room of the house.

Each piece is created by hand starting with a cold lump of clay. In the past I have used only stoneware, however I am beginning a love affair with porcelain. Each piece is hand-built without the use of molds. Most of my figures take hours to create. I often find myself obsessing over the smallest detail. I have begun trying my hand at some functional pieces (i.e. napkin rings, vases and magnets). I like the idea of "dressing up" a bunch of flowers with a vase or cinching a boring napkin with a belt napkin ring. I basically make things that appeal to me. A few items are part of my personal collection. I hope you appreciate them as much as I enjoy making them.
