About

I first started sewing when I was about four years old, and made a doll dress with clumsy crooked seams. As a child, it impressed me that I could transform a piece of cloth into so many things--a toy, doll clothes, even clothing for myself. As I grew older it seemed harder and harder to find time to sew, but while I was pregnant with my first daughter, I rediscovered the joy of creating things with a needle and thread. By the time my second daughter was born, sewing had become a creative outlet that allowed me to design just the sort of unique clothing I wanted my daughters to wear.

At this time, I am living in Lakewood, attempting to homeschool my daughters, trying to teach myself Japanese, and forever in search of more time for sewing. I am inspired by old children's books, vintage fashions from the 1920's and 1930's, and Japanese craft books…

I am inspired by old children's books, vintage fashions from the 1920's and 1930's, and Japanese craft books.

I appreciate the speed and durability of machine sewing, but love the calming simplicity of hand sewing. Nearly all my garments feature some sort of hand sewn detail--whether it's stitching on the hem, along decorative binding, or even hand bound buttonholes.

Everything in my shop has been handcrafted by me with care. If you are ever dissatisfied with your purchase, you may return the item for a full refund.
