About

Well Hello! Thank you for visiting my little piece of big wonderful Etsy.

Like the thousands of other Etsy artisans, I am profoundly fulfilled by making things with my own two hands and sharing them with you. I like to think I’m not just offering jewelry but, more importantly, joy. The joy of expressing individuality, the joy of giving a personal, thoughtful gift, the joy of supporting the artisan community.

But apart from tectonic, joyful hands, who is this India Blue character (a.k.a. me, Heather)?

Growing up on a farm in Michigan, I didn't have cable TV, video games, neighbor kids or even siblings to entertain me. All I had were the natural resources at my disposal, and endless time and a budding creativity to burn. Any mention of the word "bored" was strictly off-limits! It certainly helped that my Gr…

About

It certainly helped that my Grandmas were uber-crafty, one teaching me to bake and garden, the other to crochet and cross-stitch (among countless other crafts).

When winter would roll around, I'd make Christmas gifts to pass the time. My first creations were cross-stitched Christmas ornaments, and later expanded to sculpted polymer clay magnets, stained glass and tile mosaics, crocheted hats and scarves, and anything else that happened to pique my interest at the time.

Naturally, when I was looking for bridesmaid jewelry in 2005, my first instinct was to learn to make it myself. With my first trip to the bead store, an obsession was born!

Now, not only do I still love gemstones and making jewelry, but I love learning about all aspects of business and growing more each day. From the photography, to writing product descriptions, to striving to offer the best customer service I can - yes, I feel profoundly fulfilled.

Apart from jewelry and Etsy, I wouldn't be complete without camping, shopping discount stores (Loehmann's rocks), traveling, skiing and living with my dear husband and pup, Cheeto, in San Francisco's gorgeously moderate climate (though sadly so very far from my beloved family still back in Michigan).

That’s a little bit about me, and perhaps what inspires my work. Now I’d love to hear from and about YOU!

In appreciation,
Heather

PS> If curious about my shop name, I consider the India Blue peacock to be the most stylish and confident of all animals. I've made it my mission to offer unique designs that inspire a similar feeling of style and confidence in you, as well :-)
