About

As a young mom, I learned the art of English smocking from an aunt. That was more than 25 years ago, when hand smocking involved sewing hundreds of tiny dots onto the fabric to create necessary pleats for the final design. Today, a pleating machine saves preparation time; a small dress takes about ten hours to complete.

Many have been delighted with the smocked garments and other hand-crafted items that I have enjoyed making over the years. I hope you find something in my shop to delight you, too!
