About

Hello and Welcome to In Light Creations, I am so happy you decided to visit. I have been making jewelry since I was ten years old, and over the years it has taken many twists and turns, but always it comes from the source of my being. The making of jewelry is a meditation to me, so when choosing a name, I came up with In Light Creations, because the creative processes is one of the ways that I feel most connected with something Divine. It has also taken on a dual meaning because much of my work is extremely light weight.

Owning my own jewelry business has been something that sort of evolved on its own. It started out being a summer occupation during the season I was off from teaching, and from there it grew.

It has now become my full time job, allowing me to stay at home and be a mom to my daughter, Elianna, my greatest creation.

My Mixed Media works are an innovative concept that I came up with which incorporates reclaimed plexi-glass, papers, different varnishing techniques and beadwork. The imagery found on these little pieces of art jewelry range from my photographs and drawings which I have altered in Photoshop and printed out, to collaged candy wrappers, old envelops, cards, and specialty papers. I am inspired by a wide range of imagery, but I most often find myself focused on nature and abstract creative flow.

In addition to my mixed media jewelry, I work with gemstones creating jewelry that has both a spiritual and an esthetic feeling. Gemstones are beautiful, but they also have healing properties, which I research and describe for each piece.

Teaching still remains a part of my life, although I am not teaching art in the public schools for the time being, I still enjoy teaching continuing education classes in jewelry making. You can receive more information on my classes by visiting my personal website at www.inlightcreations.com or e-mailing me at inlightcreations [!at] gmail.com. I do jewelry making parties as well.

I appreciate you coming to view, purchase and wear my jewelry.

In Light,
Danielle
