About

I'm never great at describing who I am because I'm always changing. I have many interests and passions, but the two most influential interests in my life have been sewing/crafting and photography. I cannot even fully explain how these pursuits have molded me, changed me, and helped me hold on to my sanity in even the darkest of moments, but truth be told, I don't know where I'd be without them.

I'm a mom to 6 (one is no longer with us), an Army wife, a thrifting addict, and I love good music and watching documentaries. I enjoy morning tea with my kids (usually my 9 year old, the early bird) and cooking good food. I made my first doll out of scraps from my great grandma's sewing cabinet when I was 5 years old (I still have her!) and have always loved dolls of any kind. I really think I get more excited about dolls than my 7 year old daughter. Whether it's handmade Waldorf dolls, collectible dolls, or antique dolls, I simply cannot go without admiring or playing with them! What I appreciate about Waldorf dolls is how they are handmade, and how each doll comes to life in its own completely unique way. Even though I have created my own patterns, each doll takes on a life of its own, despite the pattern and methods. I have an idea of what I want each doll to look like at the start, but I love how the doll itself and the process pull me in, shaping, changing, and bringing the doll to life in my hands.

The interest in and support of handmade in recent years amazes and inspires me! This endeavor really does put food on our table and pays the bills for my mom and I, and we take great pride in each and every doll that we make. Thank you so much for visiting our little corner of Etsy.

Amie :)
