I'm a native of Russia. I discovered my love of woodworking at the orphanage where I grew up. From my early attempt at building wooden bows and arrows, I taught my self to build chairs and birdhouses. Which were useful to the orphanage.
I began taking woodworking classes as a teenager. But because the students were not allowed to use power tools, I learned the craft by hand. Now I'm a student at the Burlington College Woodworking program and I live, study, and create fine wood crafts at Vermont Woodworking School in Faifax. Vermont. I have a keen eye for details, and artistic imagination, a life long love for the beauty of wood.

Wood is something very important in our lives. Wood is a raw material at first, until it is made into a finished product. There are so many species of wood that differ in color, hardness, and strength.
I have worked with wood since I was a kid. Attending the Vermont Woodworking School in Cambridge, Vermont I have made big progress. I have learned how to cut dovetails by hand, as well as lots of traditional joints. I also learned how to do inlay. Inlay is a decorative technique that can be used in furniture making/ That is one of my favorites things that I like to work with..When I'm making something, I like to have inlay on my work if there is a good spot for. Sometimes if I have a big scratch on my piece of wood, I use inlay to cover the spots. I like to make furniture with curves and shapes. Spokeshave is a good tool to use. It can be very useful in furniture making.
Drafting is my biggest problem. Sometimes my work does not match the drawings, but I'm trying to make it look different from the others. I often get ideas from people around me. When I'm milling the wood, I can already know what my work will look like.
