I've had my toes in the sand for longer than I can remember. Living on the Chesapeake Bay set the scene for my artistic eye. I create using Sea Glass, shells, sand, driftwood, other natural materials such as dried and pressed flowers and wire wrapped jewelry.
A major illness took its toll a few years back and am so thankful to have finally regained the creative side of me. It was during this time that I learned about the associations of people who are SERIOUS about Sea Glass, rather than just something found here and there by chance.
Sea glass represents my journey: glass starts with sand, molded, shaped, and designed in detail. It goes through the fire, then eventually gets pitched in the ocean because it didn't suit the artist, had a flaw, or it was old, not wanted any longer, chipped or broken...less than perfect.
