About

This is supposed to be about me, for you that do not know my baking history. I will try to make it brief. Please feel free to convo me with any questions, I am an open book!

My first memories of baking were watching my cousin spend hours after hours pouring over recipes and then spending most of the night baking. She baked to bake. Neighbors, friends, the postman, whoever was in the vicinity received her baked goods. That, of course, included me. I always thought she was magical. A bright, sparkly, Fairy Godmother with a shiny wand, talking, laughing and creating in her beautiful kitchen. She is as lovely now as she was then.

At 16 I watched my mother make chocolate chip cookies. She would make the batter then put one chocolate chip into each cookie. This drove my stepfather crazy. Eventually I did what all good teenagers do after…

Eventually I did what all good teenagers do after school. I went to the store and bought a bottle of Ripple. (Just kidding, thought this was starting to get boring.) I went and bought a bag of Nestles Chocolate Chips, read the back and purchased the rest of the ingredients, went home and made a batch, not only adding all the chips in the bag I purchased; but also adding whatever chips my mother had left from the last batch she had made. That gave me one happy stepfather and one very irritated mother. Ah… in the end she laughs.

And that was the beginning of my baking and cooking passion. I was actually able to put ingredients together, they tasted good and people were happy! The end. Well, not really.

I had a real job at a great company for many years, but I continued to bake and cook, for no occasion, with disasters at some turns. Lobster Thermidor” ending as gum in a shell and Strawberry Pie with curdled pie crust. (Who does that?) Ah yes. Baking is a science to not only love; but respect. Something as simple as using the wrong size pan can cause chaos.

I ended up on Etsy through one of my stepdaughters. I was selling loaves at the seasonal farm stand and I happened to mention that I was really going to miss baking when the farm stand closed. She said “Etsy”. So here I am to hopefully create things that will make you happy. And, if I ever make you ‘unhappy’; please let me know so I may try to reverse a frown.

Thank you if you read all this and if you did, please convo me since there should be some small item sitting in my bakery waiting for you; at no cost, if you will pay for the shipping charges.
