About

Hope you are having a great summer. I am in Europe exhibiting my art! I will be back soon, thanks for stopping by!

I am grateful for you and I hope you are having a wonderful day. I really appreciate you checking out and supporting my work. When you like a piece of art it is as if something in you is having direct dialogue with the piece. Your heart may leap or your eyes may feel delighted. In the case of my whales, I would hope some of the joy I have in creating them is conveyed to you!!

I am an artist and art educator. I graduated, cum laude with a degree in Art History, from Brandeis University near Boston, and also attended Studio Art Center International in Florence, Italy and Cambridge University in the UK. Hope you are having a great summer. I am in Europe exhibiting my art! I will be back soon, thanks for stopping by!

I have worked at the New Yorker Magazine, a myriad of galleries, museums, newspapers, have been busy raising three wonderful children, home schooled, taught art (and occasionally) literature for many, many years at schools, my studio, on line and at our local museum. My art, particularly sculpture has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the states. My recent work is a foray into folk art, creating whales infused with spirit and joy. Art is my passion and I am delighted to share this love.

My website is bolinasfolkart.com and my facebook page is also Bolinas Folk Art, please visit and "like" because that's the best place for staying up to date with my work.

Thanks for visiting my Etsy Store. In real life you will most often find me drinking coffee, walking on the beach, teaching art, renovating our cottage, sculpting and painting or spending time with my wonderful husband and children...they are the best!! Making art is the thing I truly most like to do...it is all at once a form of prayer, worship and therapy.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO CHECK OUT my biblical paintings on driftwood: MAXSBIBLE.COM!! With thanks, xo Janis
