At 10, I fell madly in love.

An impassioned love affair ensued.

As would be expected, my parents did not understand and forbade the late night rendezvous'.

It was a reckless alliance, me and Punk Rock!

By 13, late night window slips allowed regular passage into the city. I was captivated by the streets of New York, enchanted by the colorful characters of the Lower East Side, drawn to the seeds of rebellion abrew within the dingy, smoke filled clubs. I became addicted to the music and costumes that rose from the putrescence, born of what seemed to me, magic. CBGBs, The Mudd Club, Great Gildersleeves, Max's Kansas City even Studio 54.

About

I began scrounging for tidbits, to create my own unique protective coating. Thrift stores, hand me downs, garbage bins... nothing was sacred in the search for the ultimate costume, my very own reflection of self, my personal armor.

I moved to the Philly area in 1982 & spent my nights at The Kennel Club, the East Side Club, City Gardens & Bacchanal. In 1986 I hit the road for San Francisco, lured by its intoxicating and vibrant music scene. I worked in record stores and sold reconstructed thrifted clothes to get by while putting myself through college, majoring in music business. I built a career and life encased in Rock n Roll.

The 80s produced a sea of "Throwaways". Kids who for some reason, were left to raise themselves. Refugees in our own land, we were just trying to get by... making our way as artists, musicians, bandits and revolutionaries. Misfits, seeking a truth that didn't exist.

Filled with colorful characters, was my Haight Street flat. We made our own music, made our own clothes, lived our own way, relying on no one but each other. We wore our thrift store and dumpster dive colours with pride. For awhile, we believed we had it all worked out... but every party has to have an end.

I have worked in music, film, video games, tech & now vintage. I run an independent consultancy focused in Talent Acquisition, Technical Recruiting & Business Contact Engagement. In my spare time, I run three online shops and fill the gaps with travel.

I seek out, research, clean, mend, photograph, create content, pack and ship everything on my own (with a little help from my friends & my critters). My models are friends, acquaintances and family.
