Asheville Mandala Weavers' Profile

About

Founder Jay Mohler started making Ojos de Dios in his hippie days back in the late 60's after seeing Ojos sent as part of an exhibit sent by the Dalai Lama of Tibet. These ojos from Tibet were almost exactly the same as ojos he'd seen earlier made by Huicholes in Mexico. Since then he has evolved his own work to 12-sided designs that he believes encompass patterns of many beliefs around the world.

In November of 2016, three of Jay's apprentices took over JaysMandalas as Asheville Mandala Weavers and continue this art form.
