About

I'm a wife to a wonderful husband of almost six years now and I'm the mother of a beautiful and imaginative two year old daughter.

I grew up in Indiana and I now reside in Midlothian, VA.

One of my goals in life was to run a 5k. I made the attempt the spring of 2011, however that didn't exactly work out as planned. Instead of running a 5k, I trained for an 8k and had a great experience! Running is a new part of my life and I never thought I'd love it as much as I do. I finished my first 10k March 2012 and I plan on running the 8k again this year. Who knows, I might just beat last year's time! Someday I WILL run a marathon.

I do work full time, but I also need a creative outlet. My latest hobby or craft project has been making fabric button earrings. One day I realized I didn't really wear any earrings, but when I did, it was always the same small stud pair. Sure they go with everything I own, but I wanted something different and something with some color. That's when I decided to try making fabric button earrings.

I do like a good challenge, however I also have to choose my projects wisely because I've got a small window of time to work on it each day. My toddler comes first, so when she rests I can "play".

I made or decorated my very first wreath a few weeks ago too. My front door is a brick red color and it needed some color that would pop. It took me about two hours to wrap the wreath with multi-colored yarn. Next I created the felt rosettes and attached them to the wreath. I don't have a wreath hanger but I did have a hook already installed on the door. After I decided to go with a turquoise wired ribbon, the bow was created. Voila, a beautiful handcrafted wreath for my front door! I took it to work and I received many compliments, so maybe one day I'll add a wreath for sale on here.

I know I've been all over the place with this information, but I hope you've enjoyed learning a little about me. I'm sure I'll add more over time, so feel free to check back.
