Jacqueline Colt Marchioni's Profile

About

Hello, and welcome to my shop. My name is Jacqueline, and I live in a small town near Dallas Texas with my husband, 6 yr old son, and two dogs, Mazzy and Sidney. My favorite thing about this town is the native oak trees.

My father moved around the world every six months as a child, so he wanted my brother and me to see the world too. We traveled far when we were young, seeing ruins, palaces, people, and art museums that continue to inspire me.

I've always been interested in human relationships. Before beginning a figurative painting, I think about relationships and the subtleties of body language in a particular situation...this inspires my first drawing. After that, I make a series of aesthetic decisions about composition, color, texture, and subject matter to make something aesthetically pleasing.

I'm also influenced by pop culture, particularly: Gwen Stefani, japanime from the 90's, and the feelings that come from listening to music.
